Nutri-Nation Functional Foods is a private, family-owned, and operated custom manufacturer of nutritional food bars for leading brand marketers and retailers throughout North America and Internationally.
We are looking to make a strong addition to our growing team in our Business Development Department.
About the Role:
The Business Development Coordinator will coordinate the flow of new product development as well as various customer and internal projects. This dynamic role will involve working in conjunction with, and providing support to Product Development, Business Development, Production Planning and Senior Management teams.
The candidate for this position must be organized, excellent at handling multiple deadlines and dealing with people and paperwork. An interest in natural foods and supplements is a plus, as we work with unique ingredients, formulations, and customers in this industry.
THIS IS NOT A SALES JOB, but rather an internal role with a primary goal of bringing prospective projects to fruition. There will also be some new initiatives in terms of grassroots marketing of our own brand, so aptitude and interest in digital and general marketing would be an asset for this role.
Key responsibilities:
– Coordinate timelines and day-to-day communication with internal and external partners to ensure the timely completion of new product and project initiatives
– Liaise with Product Development to discuss projects, taste test bars & ingredients
– Maintain clear, organized records and files of each project or account’s progress, making it easy for all team members to check on status and access relevant materials
– Monitor and coordinate responses to website inquiries
– Maintain professional verbal and written communication with prospects, customers and vendors
– Conduct meetings and facility tours with high profile customers and prospective customers
– Attend occasional out-of-town trade shows & events
– Attend occasional out-of-town customer meetings as required
– Research trends and regulatory issues within the industry
– Follow and engage in digital, marketing and brand development initiatives
– Proofread documents and consumer packaging for accuracy
– Perform general administrative duties as required
About you:
– BCIT Marketing Management Diploma preferred or related Technical Diploma, University Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
– Exceptional organizational skills
– Excellent written and oral communication skills
– Excellent computer skills, proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office software
– Digital marketing experience is an asset
– Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
– Commitment to accuracy and detail oriented
– Strong research and analytical skills
– Ability to multi-task, perform under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
– Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
– Experience in food, supplement and/or packaging industries are considered assets
